Seated Calf Raise (Smith Machine)

Form Cues
-
Sit on a flat bench positioned inside the Smith machine.

Place the bar across your lower thighs, just above the knees.

Place the balls of your feet on the floor (or on a small elevation for extra range of motion).

Raise your heels by extending the ankles, pushing the bar up with your knees.

Squeeze the calves at the top and hold for a second.

Lower the heels back down with control.

The seated position bends the knee, which shifts emphasis to the soleus muscle (deeper calf).

Use a pad or towel on the bar for comfort on the thighs.
