How it works

How progress tracking works

Tracking happens automatically while you train; the statistics views turn that data into insight.

01

Sets are logged as you train

The Workout Player records reps, weights, and completed exercises during every session, with no manual bookkeeping afterwards.

02

Data becomes charts and records

Per-exercise charts visualize trends in reps, progressions, weight, and estimated 1RM. Personal records are detected and collected automatically.

03

Review and compare

Open the muscle group heatmap to check your training balance, browse detailed logs of every past workout, and rewatch your workout recordings to compare exercise form over time.

What is the muscle group heatmap?

The interactive muscle group heatmap is a body map that colors each muscle group by how much you have trained it. At a glance you see whether your program is balanced or whether, say, your pulling volume lags behind your pushing volume. Because it is generated from your actual logged sets, it reflects what you really did, not what the plan intended.

How should I track calisthenics progress?

In calisthenics, progress shows up in more ways than added weight: more reps, harder progressions, longer holds, and better form. A good tracker needs to capture all of them. Simple Calisthenics tracks reps and weights per set, your position on every progression ladder, personal records, and even video recordings of your sets, giving you several independent lines of evidence that your training works.

Which statistics does the app show?

You get personal records per exercise, trend charts for reps, progressions, weight, and estimated 1RM, an interactive muscle group heatmap, complete workout logs, and your saved workout recordings. All statistics are generated automatically from your guided workouts.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to enter my workouts manually?
No. Sets logged in the Workout Player, by the AI Rep Counter, or from the Apple Watch flow into your statistics automatically.
Can I see my estimated 1RM?
Yes. For weighted exercises the app charts estimated 1RM trends alongside reps and weight.
Can I compare my exercise form over time?
Yes. Workout recordings from previous sessions are stored, so you can compare your form on the same exercise across weeks and months.
What counts as a personal record in the app?
The app detects records automatically, for example your best reps or weight on an exercise, and shows how they develop over time.
Is my training history used to improve my plan?
Yes. The same data powers the Progressive Overload Assistant and program adaptation, so tracking and planning always stay in sync.
