Progressive Overload Assistant

Progressive overload, calculated for every single set

The assistant calculates the ideal reps, weight, and progression for every exercise, and learns your strength so you keep making progress without having to think about it.

Progressive Overload Assistant

Precise Reps, Weights and Progression Recommendations every time

Calculates the ideal reps, weight, and progression for every exercise, and learns your strength so you keep making progress without having to think about it.

  • Ideal reps for every set

Tailored to each exercise based on your current level.

  • Weight & progression suggestions

Knows when to add load or move you to a harder variation.

  • Learns your strength

Adapts to your performance to keep progress continuous.

  • Auto-fills values

Suggested reps and weights are pre-filled, so tracking takes seconds.

How it works

How the assistant drives your progress

Progressive overload only works when it is measured and planned. The assistant does both for you.

01

Every set gets a target

Before each set you see the recommended reps and weight, tailored to the exercise and your current level. The values are pre-filled, so logging a set takes seconds.

02

The app learns your strength

Your completed sets teach the app your current strength on every exercise. Hit your targets and the recommendations rise; struggle and they adjust so you stay in the productive range.

03

Load or progression, whichever fits

For weighted exercises the assistant adds load at the right moments. For bodyweight movements it knows when to move you to a harder variation instead, which is how progressive overload works in calisthenics.

What is progressive overload?

Progressive overload is the principle of gradually increasing training demand over time, through more reps, more weight, or harder exercise variations, so your body keeps adapting. It is the single most important driver of strength and muscle growth: without it training stagnates, with it even short sessions produce steady progress. The hard part is knowing exactly when and by how much to increase, which is what the Progressive Overload Assistant in Simple Calisthenics automates.

How do you apply progressive overload in calisthenics?

In bodyweight training you overload by adding reps and sets or by moving to a harder progression, for example from regular push-ups toward archer push-ups. The assistant manages these levers for you: it recommends ideal rep targets per set, and when more reps stop being productive it moves you up the progression ladder. If you train with added weight, it recommends load increases too.

Why use a progressive overload tracker app instead of a notebook?

A notebook records what you did; a tracker app decides what you should do next. Simple Calisthenics stores every set automatically during guided workouts, compares it to your history, and turns it into concrete targets for the next session. You also get charts for reps, weight, and estimated 1RM per exercise, so you can verify that overload is actually happening instead of hoping it is.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to calculate anything myself?
No. Recommended reps and weights are pre-filled for every set. You just train and confirm, or adjust the values if a set felt different.
Does it work for pure bodyweight training?
Yes. For bodyweight exercises the assistant manages reps and progressions instead of weight, moving you to harder variations when you are ready.
What happens after a bad day or a break?
The assistant adapts in both directions. If your performance drops, recommendations adjust so you keep training in the productive range instead of failing sets.
Can I override the recommendations?
Yes, always. Recommendations are suggestions, not locks: you can log different reps or weights, and the assistant learns from what you actually did.
Does the assistant handle deloads?
Yes. Deload blocks are part of the program periodization and alternate automatically with hypertrophy and strength blocks based on your goals and recovery.
