Form Cues

  • Set both cable pulleys to roughly shoulder or slightly higher height and attach a D-handle to each.

  • Stand between the two cable towers, facing outward.

  • Grab each handle with the opposite hand so the cables cross in front of your chest (right hand holds left cable, left hand holds right cable).

  • Start with arms crossed in front at shoulder height, slight bend in the elbows.

  • Sweep both arms outward and back in a wide arc, pulling the handles apart and behind your shoulders.

  • Lead with the elbows, not the hands.

  • Squeeze the rear delts and middle traps at the end of the movement.

  • Control the return, letting the cables pull the arms back into the crossed starting position.

  • Keep your torso upright and avoid using momentum.
