Form Cues

  • Set both cable pulleys to a position slightly above shoulder height and attach a D-handle to each.

  • Stand between the two cable towers, facing outward.

  • Grab each handle with the same-side hand so the cables pull your arms inward across your body.

  • Start with arms out at shoulder height, elbows bent at about 90 degrees, forearms pointing toward your head.

  • Extend both elbows outward simultaneously, straightening the arms out to the sides.

  • Keep your upper arms parallel to the floor and stationary throughout — only the forearms move.

  • Squeeze the triceps hard at full extension.

  • Control the return, letting the cables pull the forearms back to the starting position.

  • This angle emphasizes the lateral head of the triceps.
