Form Cues

  • Place a decline bench centered between the two cable towers.

  • Set both pulleys at a height slightly below the bench level and attach a D-handle to each.

  • Secure your legs in the decline bench leg pads and lie back.

  • Start with a handle in each hand at lower chest level, palms facing forward.

  • Press both handles up and slightly inward until arms are extended above your lower chest.

  • Squeeze the lower chest at the top.

  • Lower with control back to lower chest level, feeling a stretch across the sternal pecs.

  • The decline angle plus cable tension provides a strong stimulus for the lower chest.

  • Keep shoulder blades retracted into the bench.
