Form Cues

  • Adjust the preacher bench height so your armpits rest comfortably on top of the pad

  • Plant your upper arms and elbows firmly on the pad — they stay there the entire set

  • Hold a dumbbell in one hand with an underhand grip (palm facing up)

  • Curl the weight toward your shoulder by contracting the bicep

  • Squeeze the bicep hard at the top of the movement

  • Lower the dumbbell slowly over 2-3 seconds back to near full extension

  • Keep your wrist straight and neutral — avoid curling or bending it

  • Do not lift your elbows off the pad or use momentum to swing the weight

  • Perform all reps on one side before switching to the other
