Form Cues

  • Adjust the preacher bench height so your armpits rest comfortably on top of the pad

  • Plant your upper arms and elbows firmly on the pad — they stay there the entire set

  • Grip the barbell with an underhand grip, hands about shoulder-width apart

  • Curl the bar toward your shoulders by contracting the biceps

  • Squeeze hard at the top of the movement

  • Lower the bar slowly over 2-3 seconds back to near full extension

  • Keep your wrists straight and neutral throughout the movement

  • Do not lift your elbows off the pad or use body momentum

  • Control the weight especially in the bottom stretched position
